What Semrush is

Semrush is an SEO and online visibility platform: keyword research, competitor analysis, rank tracking, site audits and backlink data, now with tracking of how your brand shows up in AI search answers. Semrush sells other toolkits (local, content, social) separately; this guide covers the SEO + AI Search plans.

Semrush plans and pricing

Yearly billing saves up to 17% and is paid upfront. You may still find Semrush’s older Pro, Guru and Business plans mentioned around the web, and on some of its own help pages; the plans above are the ones on the current pricing page.

Free plan, trial and refunds

• Free plan: no credit card, 1 demo project and 10 reports a day.
• 7-day trial on all SEO + AI Search plans. Exports are disabled during the trial, and you can’t take a trial if you’ve had one before or paid for a subscription.
• Refunds: a one-time 7-day money-back guarantee on a first yearly subscription bought directly on semrush.com by credit card. Monthly subscriptions aren’t refundable.

Limits and catches to know

• Extra users start at $45 a month each, rising with the plan.
• Add-ons cost extra, including extra AI brands ($99 a month each) and Semrush’s other toolkits.
• Free plan reports are capped at 10 a day.

Semrush’s data

Semrush says its database covers 142 geographic databases, 28.8 billion keywords, 808 million domains and 43 trillion backlinks.

Does Semrush have a free trial?

Yes, 7 days on the SEO + AI Search plans, once per account.

Can I get a refund?

Only on a first yearly subscription, within 7 days. Monthly plans aren’t refundable.

How much does an extra user cost?

From $45 a month, depending on the plan.

Is there a lifetime deal or student plan?

No. Semrush for Education offers accredited institutions 3 free months instead.
