How to choose an email marketing tool

  • Price it at the list size you’re heading for. Most email tools charge by subscriber count, so check what you’d pay at double and five times your current list, not just today.
  • Check automations are on your plan. Welcome sequences and abandoned-cart emails are where email makes money, and some tools keep them for higher tiers.
  • Look for deliverability basics. Guided domain authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) and tools to clean inactive subscribers keep you out of spam folders.
  • Make sure it connects to your store or site. A native Shopify, WooCommerce or WordPress integration keeps subscribers and purchases in sync without workarounds.
  • Test the editor yourself. If you can’t build a decent email in the free plan or trial, you won’t send them consistently.
